(this post is out of sequence and exists to bring you quickly up to date as of September 29, 2023).
I am currently in Nebraska having completed 29 of the lower 48 states. States completed till now are: GA, FL, SC, NC, VA,
MD, DC, DE, WV, NJ,
CT, RI, MA, ME, NH,
VT, NY, PA, OH, IN,
MI, IL, MO, WI, IA,
MN, ND, SD, NE,
The trip till now has been everything I imagined it to be and a little more. I have met up with several friends and colleagues, and it's been so much fun. I have spent equal amounts of time staying in campgrounds, hotels, and with friends (yes, I have friends :-) ).
Highlights of the trip:
I have maintained a regular work cadence. Between a mobile data hotspot, wifi at hotels, Starbucks and friends, it's hardly been an issue to get work done.
The driver assistance kit I have in the car has been super helpful in reducing the strain of driving. I can cover a fair distance without being too stressed or tired at the end of it all
I am comfortable with campgrounds now and can "camp" there with the anticipation of modern amenities :-)
I went night kayaking in backwaters off the coast of Maine. That was an awesome experience.
I got a picture of Saturn on a clear night.
Camping by the river and beaches has been probably one of the best times.
A lot of campgrounds have been quite empty, and I have enjoyed the solitude of camping there.
As of Sept 29, I have completed 8000 miles and one oil change in the car.
